In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach,
until the day when he was taken up,
after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit
to the apostles whom he had chosen.

written by St. Luke in Acts 1:1

Ed has been teaching through Acts in our Sunday morning catechesis hour. It is a broad overview course. He has been focusing on the continuation of St. Luke's gospel, the things Jesus continues to do and teach after his ascension. He has also been seeking to bring out echoes from the Old Testament throughout the book. I have enjoyed the class! Jesus is alive and reigning at the Father's right hand and he continues to seek and to save.

In looking back, I see I have not written an update since June! Time has passed, and I am not going to attempt to relate all that has happened. I will just list a few highlights.

First, Ed was ordained as a transitional deacon on Sept. 15th! We are very happy that he has reached this point in his goal of serving the Lord as a priest in the Reformed Episcopal Church.

Second, we went on a family vacation in August! Esther and I drove to WI and then Ed was able to join us later in the month in MI. We all drove back to Texas together at the end of the month. We were able to pick rocks and swim in icy Lake Huron, ride bikes and hike in Spring Green, wakeboard and enjoy the lake in Northern WI, and spend time with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. What a blessing! We came back refreshed.

Third, over the summer Esther attended Young Musicians Summer Camp run by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The program continues throughout the school year, 3 days per week after school. She is learning to play the violin. I am continuing to homeschool her for 2nd grade. We are glad for the music program and the opportunity to learn and grow with others.

We continue to plug away during this 4th year of the seminary journey. Ed has completed 112 credits. He is currently finishing a class on Patristics (early church fathers). After that, he has 4 more classes to take. He continues to work the morning shift at Home Depot as well. We are aiming for him to finish by May 2022.

Thanks for reading, please pray for us as the Lord brings us to mind. And, please drop us a line!
