Faithfulness that Extends to the Clouds

Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens,
Your faithfulness to the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God;
Your judgments are like the great deep;
Man and beast you save, O LORD.
How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They feast on the abundance of your house,
And you give them drink from the river of your delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
In your light do we see light.
Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you,
And your righteousness to the upright of heart!

Psalm 36:5-10

We have almost completed our fifth month in Texas. We have found the weather to be as up and down as our emotions! But, the one constant is God's steadfast love.

Ed is currently working on a paper for his January class, Catholic Epistles. This class covered the New Testament letters written to the whole (or catholic) church. These books are James, I & II Peter, I, II, III John and Jude. He has also started second semester Greek online.

We were pleased and encouraged to learn that Ed has been granted a scholarship from our church to pay for half his tuition for this semester!

We had a nice visit with Ed's parents between Christmas and New Year's. We were able to take the train and trolley downtown Dallas, as well as just spend time together.

Esther celebrated her 5th birthday! She continues to spread joy everywhere she goes. She loves playing legos, dolls, drawing and riding her bike around the park. Mom has a hard time keeping up!

I have adjusted to waking up early and am enjoying my morning quiet time to read and have a cup of coffee. I keep busy cooking from scratch, keeping up with Esther's social engagements and editing Ed's papers. I have found it is quite a lot of work to keep the budget down. But, I am glad for the stability it provides our family to have me at home.

Thanks to all of you who read these updates and faithfully pray for us. Often those prayers and the encouragement we receive from you are God's gift to help us look to him and his faithfulness that extends to the clouds!

  1. "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my path." Psalm 119:105 Such wonderful news! Thank you! Will pray prayers of thanksgiving wrapping you in His Love. Right now at 8:00 AM it is-22 here with a wind chill of -42. Can we trade weather? :-) Have not left the house for 3 days other than to run some freshly baked cookies to our neighbor who continually keeps us shoveled out. Hugs to all!
