Making Plans

April 2004
Our post for the 2nd quarter of 2018 is a couple weeks late! We are happy to report that we have made progress towards our goal of moving to Dallas. We were able to complete the renovations on our home and last Friday our home went up for sale! We had quite a few showings over the weekend and we could not have had a better weekend for it. We were able to spend time at the park and be outside. In fact, since we have been working so hard it was like a mini vacation for us!

July 2018
Our goal had been to finish working before Ed's parents came to visit. We almost made it but they did end up helping us clean the basement. Ed's dad ran our shop vac enough that it is pretty much ready for the trash heap! We bought it at the beginning of our remodeling venture. Ed's mom helped make a mattress cover and sheets that will fit Esther's odd shaped mattress in the RV. We were glad to spend time with them and Esther sure enjoyed seeing her grandparents. It had been over a year since we last saw them.

We have also been praying that Ed's boss would be able to find another employee. After some searching he finally was able to find a young man who is willing to work hard and it seems that he might be a good fit. Ed will have a couple months to help train him.

So, we are making progress towards our goal of moving to Dallas in the beginning of September. As we wait and continue pressing forward we remember the familiar proverb from God's word:

The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9

In the next few weeks we will get to spend some time with Mel's family. We will start thinking more about moving and saying goodbye to family and friends. Please pray for peace and trust in God during this time of transition.

  1. Certainly has come a long way since you purchased the homestead. It looks great and pray for the right buyer in God's timing. What a blessing to see how your family has grown!
